Cultivate for growth

When we plant a garden, we know the soil must be prepared and cultivated. We need to weed it, remove rocks and water it before we plant the seed. The same applies in sowing seeds of Faith. Exposure to sunlight is vital for a good crop. Likewise, exposure to the light of the Gospel is vital for spiritual growth. Water is another vital requirement. The Word of God, our bible, is our spiritual water. It takes a committed "farmer" to give attention to the planting and maintenance in upkeep. But when the first fruits of the labor come forth, it brings an excitement that our attentions were not in vain.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (ref:KJV)

James 2:26

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (ref:KJV)

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season, we shall reap ,if we faint not. (ref:KJV)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (ref:NIV)

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, by beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (ref:KJV)

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (ref:NIV)

The inspiration for this website is from the Word of God, where the metaphor of seed cultivation was used in  Jesus' parables. A parable is an earthly story with a spiritual  meaning. Jesus used parables many times to teach deep spiritual principles. When asked by His disciples why He didn't just tell them plainly, He said (see Matthew 15:10 & 11, 34 & 35; Luke 8:10) because understanding the mysteries of Heaven were given to chosen; whom most of the multitudes that followed Him, were not. Perception to understand these mysteries was a work of the Holy Spirit. We understand also that Jesus was fulfilling the law of the prophets, who used parables. (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel)

We want to expound on these metaphoric examples as encouragement for those who visit this site, to work their salvation like soil. Removing the rocks of temptation, thorns of worldly cares, corrupt works and pests of doubt and unbelief (Luke 8: 5-16). As our seed of  faith grows, spiritual  knowledge and understanding will become established and fruitful, through the Holy Spirit.

 (1 John 4:13; John 14:16, 26; 16:13; 1 Cor.2:13; Romans 8:14)

 Encouragement

When a person cuts open an apple, he counts the seeds, but God counts the apples in the seeds!  God sees potential!
