Testimonies
In Psalms 119, we read about
testimonies and their importance. The Psalmist in verse 111 tells us
that testimonies are an inheritance that we can pass along to our
children. Much like a Grandfather would sit amongst the children
and tell stories, we are encouraged to tell the testimonies of our
faith. As we grow in Christ these testimonies establish themselves
as we learn that all things work together for the good of those who love
the Lord. (rom.8:28). And we are happy to share them with others. ( much
like a gardener likes to share the harvest of his crop with his
neighbors) There is a hope that God holds in us that through the
testing of our faith, a testimony will grow. We are created for His
Glory. There are many scriptures that speak of patience, but the trying
of our faith develops patience. (once the seed is planted, we watch and
wait)

In March of '05, I was working as a nursing
assistant for an agency, who would fill in staff for nursing
homes and hospitals when there were call offs, vacations, etc..
The bookings for needed staff was getting more scarce which left
me out of work for 3 weeks. I was also practicing Medical
Massage at a Chiropractic office when the need arose. This, too,
was not productive enough. I looked down at my day planner and
there was absolutely nothing at all booked for the next month
coming, either. But the car insurance bill was due at $134.00,
which was as close to me at the moment as a million dollars was.
I'd been in the Word studying and meditating on God's promises
to meet our needs. I prayed "Ok Lord, I trust you. This has to
be mailed by evening post. I don't know where it is, but you
do." Just then, the mailman came and I sighed thinking
about what bill came that I didn't have the money for. As I
walked to the mailbox, I started to feel ashamed. I'd just ate a
good breakfast, after waking from a good sleep, off a cozy bed,
and I had what I needed. So I stopped praying and started
praising. "Lord, thank you, I'm sorry for grumbling, I know you
care for me. Teach me to be more grateful." There was an
unexpected check for $99.00 in the mail and no bills. I looked
up and said "thank you Lord, you're good to me". When I got back
in the house, there'd been a call on my cell phone, the message
left was a request to book a 1/2 hour massage right away, please
call asap. I charge $35.00 for 1/2 hr massage. I looked down at
my bible and it was opened to Isaiah 65:24--"And it shall come
to pass that before they call, I will answer and while they are
yet speaking, I will hear".....He knows exactly what we need!!

I do not get to see my children often and they
are missed very much. I had plans to go help out my brother for
the weekend and he lives out of state. He lives closer to my
children than I do. I was thinking while I was in the shower of
how nice it would be to see them while I was at my brothers
house for the weekend helping out, but I did not want to bother
asking him to drive the next state over to get them so I could
spend two days with them. Well as soon as I got done deciding in
my head I won't bother to ask, God spoke to me (on Monday) and
said it would be taking care of and I don't have to ask anyone.
Well a couple of days went by and it was now Wednesday, just two
days before we would be leaving. I called my brother to make
sure he had some equipment and also just to go over a couple of
things, well in midstream of our conversation he said, "I am
going to pick up your children on Friday, you don't mind do
you?" I said no and told him that is was a prayer answered! I
proceeded to tell him how God had told me days ahead of time
that it would be made possible for me to see them. I am so
thankful for blessings in my life and for the faith I have to
know God always keeps His word! Praise the Lord! |
If you'd like to
share a testimony, please email them to us and we will gladly post
them on this page.

Remember to pray when it rains as well as when the sun shines. Prayer and Meditation are
very useful tools in growing our faith. Rain and sunshine are both
needed for healthy gardens!

An excellent way to gain
knowledge, wisdom and understanding is to read a chapter in
Proverbs a day. Some read the chapter number according to the
day of the month. For example: May 4th, Proverbs 4. |
